Mary Kay Hobby, BAS, RRT, RPSGT, CCSH

Mary Kay Hobby is the founder / President of Sleep Health Management Resources, Inc. She is an internationally, nationally, and regionally recognized and invited sleep lecturer and is a published author.  Mary Kay has recently served as Director-at-Large of the AAST.  With 20 years of experience in education as chief instructor at Midwest Sleep and Neurodiagnostic Institute, Clinical Education Coordinator in a Respiratory Therapy department and 10 years as a BCLS instructor, education has long been a passion for her.  She has also been an active member of the Illinois Society for Respiratory Care Chapter 6 Education Committee.

Other memberships include:  AASM, AARC, and AAST.  Within these organizations, Mary Kay has involved herself in a variety of committees including:  Program Committee, Government Affairs Committee Chair and Awards Committee.  She is a Registered Polysomnography Technologist and Registered Respiratory Therapist and also holds a Certificate in Clinical Sleep Health.

Mary Kay has been conducting consulting services for sleep centers across the United States and Canada since starting Sleep Health Management Resources, Inc. in 2004.

Mary Kay is the 2007 Sharon Keenan Award recipient honoring excellence in sleep education.

She has been married to Marty for 31 years.  They have three children, two daughters-in-law, and two grandsons.


Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, MD, FCCP, FABSM

Our Medical Director, Dr Ahmed, a graduate of King Edward Medical College, Lahore, completed his extensive post-graduate training and fellowships at McGill University Montreal, University of Toronto and Health-Sciences Center in Winnipeg. He acquired Specialty Board Certifications in four areas including: Internal Medicine; Respiratory Medicine; Critical Care Medicine; and Sleep Disorders Medicine.Alongside Clinical practice, Dr. Ahmed has been continuously engaged in clinical research. As a fellow and as faculty at CWRU, his initial research work was in the area of sleep-breathing disorders in patients with heart failure (CHF). His research and published work highlights the relationship between the Quality of Sleep and Daytime Functionality-Fatigue in patients with heart failure.  Dr. Ahmed’s primary focus of research has remained in core areas of Sleep Medicine. He has also been focused on looking at the comorbidities, that directly or indirectly affects sleep, such as fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, heart health, alzheimer’s disease, and a myriad of psychiatric disorders that affects sleep.
